Hip Hop for HIV Awareness is a city-wide awareness campaign for HIV education, testing, and prevention, which takes place annually in Houston, Texas. This video features the testing site at Greenspoint Mall in July 2011. The Hip Hop for HIV initiative is the largest and most comprehensive annual testing and education event in the nation; offering free HIV testing, in addition to Syphilis, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea testing, at various locations throughout the city. Testing culminates in a free Hip Hop concert following the initiative, exclusively for individuals that fully participated in the testing. Community partners include the Houston Department of Health and Human Services-Bureau of HIV/STD and Viral Hepatitis Prevention, AIDS Foundation Houston, 97.9 THE BOX, Central Care and Greenspoint Mall.
